Best Places to Raise a Family in Canada



It’s finally time to buy a house, but the real question is where? To help you figure out the best location for your new home, you should look at your future. Do you plan on having children? Or, do you have children now? If you have children (or plan on it), you’ll want to raise them in a place where they can have fun, be safe, and learn about the world. But you should also consider the costs. Do you plan on sending your child to daycare? Some places have higher rates for day care than others. To help you narrow down your choices, here are the top five places to raise a family in Canada.
 

Blainville, Quebec

This quaint town in Quebec is a great place to raise your family. The average monthly cost for daycare is around $152. Over 50 percent of the population have children, so you don’t have to worry about finding your child a play date. There is also a place called 123 Go in Blainville that would be perfect for your kids. It’s a huge building where your children can play, build, and interact with other children. It’s a great place to go so they could burn some energy.
 
Calgary, Alberta
Calgary is a beautiful place to raise a family. The average monthly daycare cost is around $900. 50 percent of the population in Calgary have children, and 18 percentage have children under the age of 15. This city has plenty to do for families with kids of all ages. There are plenty of museums and parks to explore. There is even a zoo and the Dinosaur Provincial Park. Each weekend you can explore something new.
 
Burlington, Ontario
The average cost of daycare in Burlington is around $925. 53 percent of the population have children, with 16 percent with children under the age of 15.  This city is located on the northwestern end of Lake Ontario. There are plenty of parks to have a nice picnic at. There are even some museums and the Canadian Football Hall of Fame! This town is not only beautiful but it’s also a great place to raise a family. 
 
St. Albert, Alberta
In St. Albert, the average cost for daycare is $825 per month. 56 percent of the population has kids with 17 percent having kids under the age of 15. There are a large variety of parks, one being a beautiful botanical park. There is also a recreational park and a bowling center. If you are looking for more educational activities, there is a large selection of museums to go visit. 
 
Lévis, Quebec
The final city on our list is Lévis in Quebec. The average daycare cost is $166 per month. A little more than half the population has kids, with 16.5 percent have children under the age of 15. If you have active children, this would be a great place to live. There are places to ski and play golf. There are even places where you can ride a boat!
