We strive in winter and have plenty of beautiful places for you to visit. From wine tastings in Ontario to the winter festival in Yukon, Canada offers a variety of activities at different places so you’ll find something that you would enjoy doing. Here are the best places to visit in Canada this winter.
 

Ontario

If you’re a fan of wine, you should head over to Niagara-on-the-Lake in Ontario for the annual icewine festival. What is icewine you may ask? Ice wine is a type of dessert wine that is made from grapes that have been frozen while still on the vine. The sugars and other dissolved solids don’t freeze but the water does. The creates a more concentrated grape must be pressed, which creates a more concentrated and very sweet wine. At the icewine festival, you can try out the finest icewines with the perfect food pairings.
 
Manitoba
As the weather gets colder, the polar bears come out. If you’re a fan of these majestic white creatures, you can take a tundra buggy to see the bears up close. The tundra buggies are made to go over snow and ice with ease and protect tourists from curious bears. You should also visit Churchill in Manitoba to hopefully catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights.
 
Yukon
Sometimes in the cold weather, you may get the “winter blues.” If you feel they are coming on, you need to head over to Whitehorse in the Yukon. In the winter, they hold the Yukon Sourdough Rendezvous Festival, which started all the way back in 1945. There are events that include a frozen hair contest, a lip-synching contest, Queen’s tea and social, a snow sculpture contest, and much more. The festival will cure your winter blues in an instant. 
 
Quebec
If you’re a fan of skiing in the winter, you need to head to Mont-Tremblant in Quebec. It is one of top ski resorts in Canada. There are three different areas you can choose to stay at Mont-Tremblant, from a suite to a condominium. All the accommodations are in walking distance to Pedestrian Village which has a large selection of bars, restaurants, and stores.
 
Quebec City
This is a great place to visit if you have a family with young children. There are activities like flapjack breakfasts and snow slides. You can even take a picture with Bonhommee, the iconic face behind the world-famous Quebec Carnival. If you’re feeling adventurous, you could stay at the ice hotel, Hotel de Glace. It is the only real ice hotel in North America so you won’t want to pass that opportunity up!
