Canada #1 Best Country, According to Millennials

According to a new survey conducted by US News, millennials across the globe chose Canada as the Best Country Overall.

The survey, which takes into account standard of living and economic growth, asked participants to rate 60 different countries on how well they relate them to specific categories and subcategories.

Millennials between the ages of 20 to 35 are often considered the largest generation and accounted for 1.8 billion people in the world's population in 2015. Although only a small fraction took part in the survey, 6,000 millennials highly ranked Canada on characteristics that included:

Adventure: fun, scenic, pleasant climate, friendly and sexy
Citizenship:
respects property rights, progressive, trustworthy, gender-equality, well distributed political power, cares about the environment, cares about human rights, religious freedom

Cultural Influence: prestigious, significant in entertainment, fashionable, trendy, modern, influential culture, happy
Entrepreneurship: easy access to capital, well-developed infrastructure, transparent business practices, educated population, skilled labor force, entrepreneurial, connected to the rest of the world, innovative, technological expertise, well-developed legal framework
Heritage: culturally accessible, cultural attractions, rich history, great food
Movers: distinctive, different, unique, dynamic
Open for Business: corrupt, favorable tax environment, bureaucratic, transparent government practices, manufacturing costs
Power: strong military, strong international alliances, politically influential, a leader
Quality of Life: economically stable, good job market, affordable, safe, politically stable, family-friendly, well-developed public education, well-developed public health, income equality

Germany came in a close second among millennials and rounding out the top five were the United Kingdom, Japan and the United States.

When responses from all age groups were factored in, Germany came out on top with Canada sitting at number two. Even in second place, it's easy to see why moving to Canada is so appealing.
