After Your Move, Holidays
For those who wish for the end of summer each year, your wish has finally come true. It's officially fall today. Bring on the changing leaves, the
chilly afternoons and the cozy sweaters! As you switch out your summer wardrobe for your fall wardrobe, does something else need to be updated? That's right, your home. As the seasons change it only makes sense to change up your home decor. If you're at a loss for how to decorate your home for the fall, try one of these tips!
Festive wreathA festive wreath is a simple way to
brighten up your front door for visitors and passersby. You can make one yourself with some items from a craft store or buy one that is already made and hang it on your door.
Seasonal items
Smaller seasonal items throughout your home can easily bring the fall indoors. Whether it's a colourful pillow or a scented candle, bringing out decorative pieces that are easily stored and switched out through the year is a great idea for renters or anyone who is hesitant of a complete decor overhaul. When those items aren't in use, you can stow them in a storage bin in your closet and save them for next year.
Table settingsIncorporating pumpkins into your table settings is easier than you think. Whether you've decided to carve out the interior of a pumpkin and use that as a vase for some seasonal flowers or you've spray painted some craft store pumpkins gold, your dining room will instantly exude the essence of fall.
PUMPKINS!When fall rolls around (as it does every year) pumpkins are everywhere! Head to a pumpkin patch near you and pick some pumpkins to carve a few scary faces and display them on your front porch!
TIP: To keep them from rotting too quickly, make a solution of 1 tablespoon bleach to 1 quart of water. Pour the solution into a spray bottle and spray all the cut edges and the interior of the pumpkin after wiping the exterior of the pumpkin clean.
