Flight Attended Refuses to Let 2-Year-Old Use Wash Room

Flights have been becoming more unpleasant as time progresses. The issues with overbooking flights is becoming more and more frequent. And now they are not letting toddlers use the closest washroom? Where does it end?!

On a return flight from Nova Scotia to Calgary in May, Stacy Osmond and her granddaughter, 2 year-old Ruby, were told that they could not use the bathroom that was closest to their seat.

The grandmother booked the two seats they had solely because they were the closest seats available to a bathroom. And since Ruby had just finished potty training, it would be easier and quicker if she used the business class washroom. Her granddaughter, Ruby, used the washroom once with no problem. The two other times she had to use it, the flight attend refused to let her use it. About half way through the five and a half hour flight, Ruby and Stacy got up to use the economy class washroom in the rear of the plane (the bathroom designated to their section). However, the service cart was blocking her way. The toddler had to use the bathroom so bad, she ended up wetting herself and sat in her wet clothes the rest of the flight home.

"I was enraged," said Stacey. "I sat there, still having to play with Ruby with a smile on my face, while I was just full of anger because of this woman, especially after she peed in her pants."

While Air Canada offered Osmond a 25% discount on her next flight, a $200 voucher, and some toys for Ruby, the enraged grandmother, is looking for a full refund and a personal apology from the flight attendant directly.
