Canada News, Moving News
Anyone who doesn't live under a rock knows that the United States presidential election is a bit of a mess. And as they do every four years, Americans talk about their back-up plan to move to Canada if their candidate doesn't win. This is nothing new as you can see
here,
here, and
here, and
here. But how hard is it to actually, successfully move from the US to Canada?
A 'Late Show' research experiment
As only "Late Show" host Stephen Colbert can, he took it upon himself to investigate the path towards Canadian citizenship. He met with an immigration lawyer to hilariously discuss the requirements needed to permanently escape election-torn America, and completes his citizenship test with the most Canadian answers he can come up with. When asked to name two Canadian symbols, his reply was, "the maple leaf and the bare-naked lady." He got half-a-check for the latter. Whether Colbert will actually follow through with this relocation will be determined on Nov. 8.
