United Kingdom prepare yourself – Tim Hortons is coming to you! If you don’t know what Tim Hortons is, you’re not a real Canadian. For those who don't know, Tim Hortons is a store that sells coffee,
doughnuts, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and grilled paninis. It’s unsure currently how many stores are planned to open in
England, Scotland, and Wales.
The United Kingdom isn’t the only place that is getting a Tim Hortons. In late July, they announced they were also opening stores in the Philippines.
Tim Hortons has also already expanded in the United States. It first debuted in the U.S. back in 1984. Tim Hortons struggles in the U.S. due to the competition between Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks.
In 2014, Restaurant Brands International (RBI), which also owns Burger King, is looking to grow Tim Hortons globally.
Tim Hortons was founded in 1964 by Tim Horton, Jim Charade, and Roy Joyce. As of today, it has 4,413 restaurants. 3,660 of those are in Canada, 650, in the U.S., and 113 in the Middle East. The famous coffee café also has outlets on seven
Canadian Forces Bases.
