In case you didn't know, yesterday was World Environment Day. Trudeau was seen "doing his part" by
kayaking down the Niagara River in Ontario.
The down-to-earth PM was seen pulling his kayak into the town of Niagara-on-the-lake. He was sporting a t-shirt, shorts, sandals, and a life-jacket for safety.
Unlike the President of the United States, Donald Trump, the paddling Prime Minister believes in climate change and that we can make a difference. "[Canada] will not back down from our commitment to fight climate change -- and we're not alone," he said. "Around the world, nearly every country is on our side. Business is on our side. Science is on our side," he continued.
Not only are animals being affected by global warming, people and their homes are as well. In true Trudeau fashion, the PM paddled up to a home located in Niagara-on-the-lake and asked a family how climate change and the rise in water levels have affected their property. "This is the highest it's been since we've been here," said the resident.
This year, the high waters are threatening thousands of homeowners residing near Lake Ontario. "We can't walk away from the reality of climate change," Trudeau stated on Monday. " We won't walk away from a global plan that has a realistic chance of fighting it."
