Job Creation Up in Some Areas As Unemployment Rises

Thinking about moving to another province or territory for work? Choose wisely, not all areas have seen a rise in job creation.
According to Statistics Canada (via
CBC News), 193,000 jobs were created in the past 12 months, 12,000 of which were made in August.
Despite this, unemployment rose last month to 7 percent across Canada (the highest since August 2014). This is up from the steady 6.8 percent unemployment rate, meaning 52,000 more people are looking for work, with 5,000 jobs lost in August alone.
This may be because not all provinces have been creating jobs -- only Saskatchewan, Newfoundland and Labrador, Manitoba and New Brunswick saw gains.
And while natural resources and education saw a rise in jobs, fewer opportunities were created in construction and manufacturing.
