Wrapping and Packing Pint Glasses

There are lots of moving parts to take into account while you relocate your life, and the most time consuming part is wrapping and packing your items--especially the breakable ones. To ensure that any pint glasses you own arrive in one piece, carefully follow these instructions.

Supplies

To efficiently wrap and pack your pint glasses you will want to first gather your supplies. These include:
  • A heavy-duty moving box or dish carton
  • A cell box
  • Packing paper
  • Bubble wrap
  • Packing tape
  • A permanent marker

Wrapping

Before you can pack your pint glasses you must first cautiously wrap them to prevent damage during your move. You'll be thankful you took the extra time when your pint glasses arrive in one piece.
  • Stuff the pint glasses. To strengthen the glasses you will be packing, stuff the hollow space normally reserved for liquid with crumpled pieces of packing paper.
  • Wrap the glass. Take one of your stuffed pint glasses and lay it on the corner of several sheets of packing paper. Roll the packing paper over and under the glass until it is completely covered and you have reached the opposite corner.
  • Tuck in the excess. Wrap the extra packing paper at the top of the glass over the lip and excess at the bottom around the base.
  • Provide extra protection. For even more protection, wrap each covered glass one more time in bubble wrap and finish with a final layer of packing paper.
  • Repeat. Follow the above steps for each glass until all your pints are stuffed and wrapped.

Packing

The final step after the wrapping process is complete is the packing itself. Take the utmost care when packing your pint glasses so they arrive at your destination intact.
  • Reinforce the box. To prevent the weight of the moving box from breaking the bottom open during your move, reinforce it with several securely placed pieces of packing tape.
  • Insert your cell box. If it is not already inside your moving box, add the cell box. At the bottom of each individual cell, place a crumpled ball of packing paper to further cushion your glasses.
  • Add the pint glasses. Insert the wrapped pints rim side down on top of the individually crumpled packing paper checking for a snug fit.
  • Fill in gaps. Add even more crumpled packing paper to any voids left inside the box. The less the pint glasses shift around while being moved the smaller the likelihood they will break while in transit.
  • Seal the moving box. Close and seal the top of the box with more packing tape.
  • Label your box. Last but not least, label the moving box to indicate what is inside as well as where it should be placed in your new home. Also be sure to inform movers that the contents of the box are "FRAGILE, THIS SIDE UP" with an arrow denoting how the box has to be carried and loaded on the moving truck.

TIP: Save yourself money for the rest of your move by making your own cell boxes rather than buying pre-made ones.

Hire movers

Yet an entirely different route you can take is one that requires little effort on your part, and that's hiring a professional moving company, to wrap, pack and relocate your pint glasses for you.
