AKA Royal Van Lines; AKA North American Movers; AKA Capital Moving Services Inc.
The whole truth and nothing but the truth. This statement is something I pride myself in living. Most of the time it is a good thing and a not so good thing by those who do not respect the truth and wish to operate and hide behind deception. In all my years in policing/security I have never dealt with a company that is so unprofessional as Greenland Van Lines also known as Royal Van Lines, North American Movers and Capital Moving Services (something I learned on line in a post by someone in Victoria who experienced Royal Van Lines). The best way to articulate how unprofessional they are I will tell a story, a true story, one that can be verified by witnesses and documentation that I have retained. So buckle-up here I go.

It all started months ago when I was planning our move from Toronto to Kingston, Ontario and La Minerve, Quebec. In deciding where my wife and I would like to live full time, we decided to live with my wife's mother in Kingston but vacation a good portion of our time at our chalet in Quebec. When you are retired, you have these kind of options.

As such, the move from Toronto would be in two parts. Deliver our king bedroom set to Kingston so that we can complete the furnishing of my mother-in-law's walkout basement to provide us with privacy and comfort. The second part of the move would be to deliver all other belongings that we need to the chalet as we have a large storage outbuilding there, saving us storage costs.

It should be noted, we sold or gave away the majority of the furniture in Toronto as my mother-in-law's town home is furnished (except for our bed set) and so is our chalet, so the move would be rather simple and uncomplicated. Boy was I mistaken.

I contacted Brian from Greenland Van Lines and he was so polite and obliging. When I described the two part move he indicated that this would not be no problem because Kingston is on the way to Quebec and they would stop there first and continue onto Quebec. I put a $250.00 deposit down and confirmed with Brian that the pick-up at the Toronto house would be on Thursday, April 25th at around 11am and delivery to Kingston then our chalet on Saturday, April 27th. Great all set now start packing, selling and giving stuff to charity. I stressed with Brian about keeping to this schedule as I have to travel back to the chalet via public transportation. Brian proclaimed that this would not be a problem.

My wife and I began our vacation Easter weekend and she would stay at the chalet and I would return three days before the move date to the Toronto house to finish the packing and monitor the move-out myself. The weekend before the move came and on that Sunday, my wife dropped me off at the town's bus stop. The start of the return to Toronto journey has begun, bus to Montreal, 747 bus to PET airport, Porter to Toronto (bloody ex
