Make Your Home Ready for Guests in a Flash

Unexpected guests? Make sure your home is ready for holiday guests or any unexpected guests in a flash with this simple cleaning routine. The best part is that it can all be done in less than an hour. Ready? Start your timer!

Hide the clutter

Grab a basket and go from room to room picking up anything that's out of place. Clothing, shoes, books, etc, anything that doesn't belong where it is should be tossed into the basket. Once you've gone through all the rooms, stash the basket in a closet or room so that it's out of sight.

Get wiping
In the bathroom and kitchen, wipe down all the counters, sinks, mirrors and appliances. In the bathroom, give your toilet at quick brushing with a small amount of cleaner, flush and go. You should also close the shower curtain or shower doors and straighten out the hand towels and/or replace them.

Get rid of the rubbish
Emptying the trash can liners in your home is something that can instantly make a difference in how clean your home feels. Besides, no one like a smelly kitchen garbage.

Vacuum
Unfortunately, you will still need to vacuum a little bit before your guests arrive. Again, this is something that can instantly make your home feel a bit cleaner. But since this is a quick cleaning, focus your vacuuming on hallways, the living room and entryways - anywhere there will be a lot of foot traffic. If you have hardwood floors or other non-carpeted surfaces, a quick once-over with a dust mop should do the trick.

Now that all the hard work is done, light a few candles and take a seat. You've just made your home fresh and clean in under one hour. That feeling coming over you right now is satisfaction. Enjoy it.
