In a recent study, Vancouver, British Columbia has been named the Canadian city with the most traffic congestion.
Worst traffic in Canada
According to the
TomTom Traffic Index, Vancouver landed in the number one spot followed by Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Halifax and Winnipeg. The least congested city in Canada is Calgary, whose traffic dropped by three percent.
However, the survey also showed that traffic congestion dropped by two percent overall, with the busiest traffic days occurring on Thursday evenings. Thanks to better traffic management, drivers have been spared an additional four hours of traffic in Vancouver and eleven in Toronto.
Regardless of the decline, it's estimated that commuters will spend around 126 hours a year in additional travel time due to traffic, equating to a little more than five days.
