Shopkins Toys Expected to Top Christmas Lists in Canada

It seems Shopkins toys are topping children's Christmas lists this year, according to CBC News.

Shopkins toys are small - some as small as your thumb - figurines with faces drawn and painted on them. Some are larger and look more like traditional dolls and according to a Showcase store manager, Donna Lynd, they're "cute, collectable and even tradable."

Lynd manages a store in the Devonshire Mall in Windsor and added that, "We pretty much have to restock daily. It sells that fast."

Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles have been coming to the stores in search of Shopkins, she says. Shopkins are meant for children aged four through eight, but Lynd adds that she thinks they're targeted up to 10 years old.

Shopkins have become so popular that not only have collections sold out in hours, but some elementary schools and day care centers have banned them because of how distracting they've become.

There are only 30 days until Christmas so will you be purchasing any Shopkins this year? If so, you may want to be prepared to fight over them!*
