After Your Move
Worried about meeting your neighbours after you move into a new place? Don't be! A recent study has revealed that talking to strangers can actually boost your happiness levels.
The study also uncovered that in addition to altering moods, speaking to strangers increases a person's "sense of belonging in a community."
Explained psychology professor Elizabeth Dunn of her experiment, which saw romantic couples making small talk with strangers, "It turns out that just exchanging those random pleasantries with the people around us can actually uplift our moods in ways that we may overlook."
Extroverts and introverts alike felt the effects of the experiment, the only difference being that introverts didn't expect to enjoy the conversations as much as they did.
So don't be shy after you move in, make yourself happier after a move and foster a sense of community by
introducing yourself to the neighbours!
