The Best and Worst Provinces for Student Debt

Choosing a university? Considering moving to be closer to that university? Before settling on a choice, it's important to take your student debt into account. Since all education is controlled individually by provincial governments, some have higher levels of student debt than others.
According to data collected by Consolidated Credit, New Brunswick is the province with the most student debt at $35,200 -- far above the $22,300 national average -- with Quebec boasting the least debt at $11,900 (thanks to various protests).

- Ontario: $22,400
- Manitoba: $19,600
- Saskatchewan: $19,600
- Quebec: $11,900
