Celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday with Colorful Gems

Even though Canada doesn’t celebrate its birthday until July 2017, it doesn't art from being created. A Canadian company is creating a pin to celebrate the event.

KORITE is a Canadian gemstone and jewellery company that is the largest producer of ammolite. Ammolite is an opal-like gemstone. The Government of Canada has called upon KORITE to create a piece of jewellery to celebrate this milestone.

KORITE came up with a maple leave pin that is various colors made with ammolite. The pin also says “Canada” and “150.”

"The colourful and natural expression of ammolite is a representation of Canada's rich history, cultural mosaic, and natural beauty," says Amarjeet Grewal, VP of Operations and Merchandising. "Canada's gemstone is the official marker of national pride and we know that it will inspire Canadians to celebrate another 150 years."

The gemstone is hugely Canadian and only found in Southern Alberta’s Bearpaw Formation. The stone has been historically celebrated by the Blackfoot First Nation.

The pin will be offered at select retailers nationwide and will be gifted to dignitaries around the world to promote Canadian patriotism.

There will be 20 keepsakes to collect with a retail price range at $79.95 and $150.00. Set in silver plate or sterling 925 silver, the wearable accessories will showcase KORITE's signature settings.

KORITE will launch the line to all Canadian through The Shopping Channel starting on Dec. 11. The product will be available to retailers after this launch.

Why have they not reproduced the leaf properly.  It is missing 2 points at the bottom i.e. there should be 13 not 11 triangles to make up the leaf.    Am I missing something/?
