Guinness Goofs on Canada Subway Ads
Guinness, Ireland's most famous stout brand, is one of the last companies you'd expect to commit a St. Paddy's faux pas.
However, the company's Canada branch majorly goofed on their St. Patrick's Day subway advertisements, which featured a maple leaf and a four-leaf clover and the caption "Preferred Foliage" on a bright green backdrop. The three-leaf shamrock is the proper St. Paddy's Day symbol--used by Saint Patrick as a symbol of the Christian Holy Trinity.
Toronto commuters began sharing photos of the snafu on social media, which incited an apology from Guinness Canada, and a promise that the incorrect ads would be removed.
Luckily, all of the bungled ads were removed in time for the festivities on March 17.
