We may only be three days into the 2016 Olympics in Rio, but how is Canada faring so far?
Medals
Canada currently holds two Olympic medals, one in silver and one in bronze, both of which were won in swimming.
Our first medal -- bronze -- was secured Saturday (August 6) in the women's 4×100 metre freestyle relay by Chantal Van Landeghem, Taylor Ruck, Sandrine Manville, and Penny Oleksiak. This marks the first time a female Canadian swimmer has won in the past 20 years.
A silver medal was also gained by a solo 16-year-old Oleksiak, who won the token for her standing in the 100-metre butterfly final last night (August 7).
Sad about the lack of medals? There's no need to worry, there's still plenty of events and 13 more days worth of the Olympic games to go!
